Nandrolone vs testosterone, to know why use NPP nandrolone phenylpropionate?

06/26/2023

Nandrolone, whose formula is C18H26O2, was invented by scientists on the basis of a structural modification of 19-testosterone. It is obtained by alkyl action on the 19-testosterone molecule and is named 19-demethyltestosterone or Nandrolone. To know Nandrolone vs testosterone, we can know why people use NPP nandrolone phenylpropionate.

It is a modified form of testosterone and has a 19-1 modification. This means that the 19th carbon atom of testosterone has been removed. The structure of Nandrolone consists of a steroid nucleus, which consists of four interconnected rings: three cyclohexane rings (labeled A, B, and C) and one cyclopentane ring (labeled D).

In the A ring, Nandrolone has a double bond between carbon atoms 4 and 5, and also a keto group (C=O) at the carbon atom 3.

In addition, Nandrolone has a phenylpropionate attached to a 17-hydroxyl group (OH) on the 17 carbon atom, which affects its half-life.

These structural differences between Nandrolone and testosterone lead to differences in their pharmacological properties, action, and metabolism in the body.

Estrogen effect

Testosterone can aromatize into estrogen, leading to potential estrogen side effects such as water retention, gynecomastia, and an increased risk of high blood pressure. Nandrolone has a lower aromatization rate compared to testosterone, which means it is converted to estrogen at a lower rate. This can reduce the side effects of estrogen.

Anabolism and androgen action

Both Nandrolone and testosterone have anabolic effects that promote muscle growth, strength and performance. Compared to testosterone, Nandrolone has a higher anabolic activity, about 3.29-4.92 times that of testosterone. At the same time, Nandrolone brings fewer androgen side effects because its androgen activity is about 0.31-0.41 times that of testosterone.

Half-life

Nandrolone has a longer half-life compared to testosterone. This means it remains active in the body longer and requires less frequency of administration. The half life of Testosterone, depending on the ester to which it is attached (such as testosterone propionate), can have different duration of action and require more frequent administration.

Testosterone and Npp Uses

Testosterone is commonly used in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for individuals with low testosterone levels. It is also used to treat conditions such as hypogonadism and delayed puberty. NPP has been used to treat anemia, muscle-wasting diseases and osteoporosis.

Following the successful development of Nandrolone, various Nandrolone ester derivatives have been developed, including :trestolone acetate, nandrolone decanoate(DECA), nandrolone phenylpropionate(NPP)

When used in bodybuilding, Nandrolone is clearly more advantageous, it also has the ability to relieve pain and promote rapid muscle recovery or healing. However, it also has a big disadvantage, that is, Deca Dick. Most men can not accept this side effect. Of course, this side effect can be solved by stacking testosterone.
