Oral administration of the growth hormone secretagotropin MK677 stimulates the production of growth hormone (GH). So MK677 certainly helps with growth.

Under normal circumstances, human GH is secrete by the pituitary gland. For the pituitary insufficiency, cannot promote the secretion of sufficient levels of GH, can mk677 promote the secretion of GH by the pituitary gland to help grow taller?

One trial to know if MK677 help grow taller

Several human studies have explored this question. One trial studied nine men aged 17-34 years with idiopathic GH deficiency in childhood who had not received GH or GH secretagogues for at least 6 months prior to the study.

The study was in two groups. The first group with 4 people conduct 10mg of mk677 in a crossover. The second group with 5 people conduct 10mg of mk677 during the first study period and 50mg of mk677 during the second study period.

The experimental results showe that the circulating concentrations of GH,IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 were significantly increased in patients treated with 10mg and 50mg of mk677 daily. While the parameters of patients treated with placebo did not change.

Before mk677, all subjects had GH levels below the normal range for their current age. After treatment with both doses of mk677, all subjects had GH levels above baseline. And mk677 at doses of 10mg and 50mg had similar stimulatory effects.

This test showed that mk677 could help GH-deficient men increase GH levels and help them grow taller.

The increase in IGF-1 and GH concentrations caused by mk677 acting as GH secretagogues is most likely due to its effects on the pituitary and hypothalamus. All subjects had measurable, albeit reduced, serum GH levels, which were classified as idiopathic GH deficiency. This is cause by insufficient stimulation of the pituitary gland by hypothalamic GHRH, rather than a primary pituitary lesion. Therefore, not only HGH but also GH secretagogue mk677 may be use to treat this condition. The use of GH secretagotropin mk677 is not effective when primary pituitary lesions produce almost unmeasurable concentrations of GH in the body. In fact, the proportion of people with such severe GH deficiency is less than 25% of GH deficiency cases.

Therefore, for common GH deficiency, MK677 treatment can increase the GH level in the body.

Mk677 helps to increase the GH level in the body, but it does not mean that mk677 can help to grow taller. It also depends on whether the user’s bone has been closed. For people who have closed, using mk677 will not grow taller.

Studies of mk677 as a treatment for children with idiopathic GH deficiency are in preclinical development, which suggests that mk677 may help with height growth.
