What is Tβ4?

Tβ4 (Thymosin-beta4) is naturally present in the body, originally isolated from the thymus gland, and gradually found in many other tissues with the development of biotechnology.  It is a major cellular component in many tissues and its intracellular concentration can be as high as 0.5 mM.

Since the relationship between TB500 and Tβ4 is that TB500 is a synthetic version of Tβ4, why supplement TB500 instead of Tβ4 directly?
