In the previous article, we mentioned that bodybuilder actually uses the anti-estrogen effects of Tamoxifen. Tamoxifen is SERM(selective estrogen receptor modulator), not AI(aromatase inhibitors), so can Tamoxifen replace aromatase inhibitors?
Tamoxifen is highly selective and plays an anti-estrogen role in the breast. It preferentially binds to estrogen receptors, preventing the potential buildup of large amounts of estrogen in the breast and thus preventing gyno from occurring.
How do aromatase inhibitors (AI) work? AI works by blocking the action of aromatase, which prevents it from converting testosterone (androgens) into estrogen, thereby reducing overall estrogen levels in the body.
In summary, Tamoxifen’s action targets estrogen receptors, primarily in the breast, and it has no effect on estrogen levels in the body. AI’s action targets aromatase, which reduces overall estrogen levels, including the rest of the breast body, by blocking the action of the aromatase.
What are the main side effects of estrogen?Gyno and Water retention.
For the side effect of gyno, Tamoxifen is very professional, it may be effective in preventing the occurrence of gyno, but also has the degree of reversal of the occurrence of gyno. AI reduces overall estrogen levels, and gyno does not occur without sufficient estrogen levels reaching the breast. So both Tamoxifen and AI are effective in preventing the occurrence of gyno.
Tamoxifen had no effect on water retention as a side effect. Since water retention is a systemic (holistic) problem, Tamoxifen does not reduce oestrogen levels and has an antifemale effect primarily in the breast, so it does not address water retention. In this respect, AI is a specialist.
If you’re going to go for anti-estrogens, go for AI. And if the anabolic steroid you’re using happens to be a dry compound that doesn’t interact with aromatase to produce estrogens, and therefore doesn’t have the potential for water retention, then Tamoxifen works. In fact, if you’re using a dry compound that doesn’t interact with aromatase, the likelihood of gyno occurring is very low. Therefore, if the purpose is to anti-estrogen, the best choice is AI, and Tamoxifen is actually mainly used in PCT, Tamoxifen can not replace the role of AI.
